TIME TO CONNECT

Learning is enhanced in positive relationships and in good connections with adults and other children.

As a parent your relationship with them and others is a model to your child; confidence breeds confidence and having an optimistic outlook is 'infectious'!

During uncertain times a connection with a trusted adult is a protective factor for maintaining good wellbeing which supports learning.

Spending time connecting with your child each day is different to simply spending time with them. Reflect on the quality of your connections with your child..how many are to direct or deflect and how many are a genuine response to their bids for a connection.

Find out what your child would like you to do with them (it's probably not tidying the playroom!) and make a plan to do it with some special allocated time where interruptions are minimised.

This is particularly important in times of change and uncertainty.
