EDUCATION & LEARNING PROGRAM

Educators believe children are capable and competent and encourage them to be active in their learning where they are highly challenged and have a sense of independence and choice. Grove Kindergarten has a strong commitment to support children to become powerful learners through integrating knowledge across disciplines, encouraging them to think holistically.

 

Children are encouraged to engage in adventurous play to foster risk taking in order to learn how to manage risks, and test the limits of their physical and emotional development. This includes mastery of skills, social competence, optimistic thinking, problem solving and a sense of purpose.

 

Children are given long periods of uninterrupted time in unstructured play to wonder, and deeply explore their ideas through a nature lens. Through nature pedagogy children become connected and involved learners who develop dispositions for learning such as curiosity, persistence, cooperation, reflection and confidence.
